In 2021, the Black population in Canada was 1,547,870, which is 4.3% of the total population. The Black population has more than doubled since 1996, and is expected to continue to grow, and could reach over 3 million people by 2041. The census metropolitan areas with the most black people include Toronto, Montréal, Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Hamilton, Oshawa, and Québec City.
